By 2023 throughout the 5 continents, we will be the fast fashion brand, having the richest and the favorite collections.

Today In Numbers

After renewing its growth strategy, KOTON is in 25 countries with 450 stores, more then 280 of them being in Turkey, 165 of them being abroad thanks to working systematically using its knowledge, experience and technology.

Koton from Past to Present

1988 We started with our 25 square metered first store in Istanbul.

1995 We renewed our organization in order to make our own design and production.

1996 We opened our first foreign store in Munich, Germany.

1997 We opened our first concept store in Istanbul.

1999 We put our franchise system into practice in merchandising operations.

2001 We enlarged our design crew / We increased our product diversity / We took our first step in the “Fast Fashion” category with our principle of opening large-scaled stores.

2002 We started to open new stores throughout the Middle East, Russia and the Balkans rapidly.

2005 We reached 100 stores in Turkey and 39 abroad.

2007 We reached 150 stores.

2008 We kept up with the pace, reaching 180 stores.

2009 And 293 stores... / Our rank is 26 among 100 brands according to the research of “Turkey’s Most Valuable Brands” by Capital. / We are the second most valuable brand in fashion retailing.

2010 We have founded a radio studio in Cevahir in order to create a positive atmosphere for our clients and employees, started to live broadcasting in all of our stores in Turkey.

2011 We introduced our first Swimwear Collection with worldwide known model Alessandra Ambrossio. / Again the first time we’ve launched Kids and Large Size Collections.

2012 We were chosen to be “the most favorite and preferred Women Brand” according to the research of most favorite and preferred retail stores by Council of Shopping Centers in malls.

2013 We were once again chosen to be “the most favorite and preferred Women Brand” according to the research of most favorite and preferred retail stores by Council of Shopping Centers in malls.

MAPIC CANNES 2008 RETAIL SUCCESS STORY AWARD

In MAPIC 2008 which is considered to be the Oscar of retail and being one of the most important retail platforms around the world attended by 2.340 retail firms, 1.079 investors and total 10.640 visitors from 71 countries, KOTON won the great award of “Retail Success Story”.

ERNST & YOUNG ENTERPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AWARD TURKEY/MONTE CARLO 2009

In the Turkey finale of “Entrepreneur of the Year” worldwide competition arranged by Ernst&Young since 1986, Gülden and Yılmaz Yılmaz were picked to be the “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the jury among the finalists which are highly significant to this industry.

WORLD RETAIL CONGRESS SPAIN 2009

In the World Retail Congress being attended by retailers over 1.100 from average 46 countries, under the categories of “Retail Innovation” and “Multimarket Retail”, KOTON was candidate as a finalist by a jury including worldwide leader retail company CEO’s and academicians.

EKONOMIST TURKEY 2009 WOMAN ENTERPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AWARD

“Woman Enterpreneur of the Year” award was given to KOTON co-founder and board member Gülden Yılmaz decided by Ekonomist magazine having consulted to business men and opinion leaders over 2.000 nationwide.
